SymbalooEDU is a recently released EDU version of the original Symbaloo site. Symbaloo claims to have 50,000 teachers currently using its original site, and this was the driving force for creating the EDU version. It is a visually appealing way to organize and share web resources. You can collect information on a given topic for a lesson, gather together some links for a webquest, or put together an e-portfolio. In the future, it may be nice to see a storage account that allows you to upload files of your own, but for now this is purely web-based content. It uses a drag and drop tile interface to link to sites of your choice, and if there is currently no pre-made tile for your site, you can easily make one of your own. Google Instant: "Google Instant is a new search enhancement that shows results as you type. We are pushing the limits of our technology and infrastructure to help you get better search results, faster. Our key technical insight was that people type slowly, but read quickly, typically taking 300 milliseconds between keystrokes, but only 30 milliseconds (a tenth of the time!) to glance at another part of the page. This means that you can scan a results page while you type.
The most obvious change is that you get to the right content much faster than before because you don’t have to finish typing your full search term, or even press “search.” Another shift is that seeing results as you type helps you formulate a better search term by providing instant feedback. You can now adapt your search on the fly until the results match exactly what you want. In time, we may wonder how search ever worked in any other way."

I LOVE GOOGLE TALK - I can sit right at my desk and make a phone call! I no longer have to worry about not being able to make a long distance phone call while at work. Yes of course I could use my cell phone (as my husband keeps reminding me), but what is the fun in that! Students had fun calling their parents - however, this application IS NOT downloaded on the students' computers - otherwise there could be major issues with students calling everyone - as you could imagine.
